Notice of Increased Military Activity from June 27-July 15, 2025

NOTICE TO AREA RESIDENTS: INCREASED MILITARY AIRCRAFT ACTIVITY DUE TO ATLANTIC ALLIANCE 2025 EXERCISES

Portsmouth, NH – June 30th, 2025 – Portsmouth International Airport at Pease wishes to inform Seacoast-area residents of increased military aircraft operations between June 27 and July 15 due to Atlantic Alliance 2025 (AA25) — a large-scale, multinational military training exercise involving U.S. Navy and Marine Corps forces and allied partners from the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Conducted by U.S. Fleet Forces Command and Marine Forces Command, AA25 is the premier East Coast naval integration exercise. It is designed to rehearse and refine amphibious capabilities, enhance command and control interoperability, and strengthen joint readiness in littoral and contested environments from North Carolina to Maine. As a strategic military location, Pease will support an increased tempo of flight activity related to these operations, including amphibious assaults, naval maneuver exercises, and expeditionary support missions.

“This training is vital to ensuring the preparedness and coordination of our armed forces and allied nations,” said Paul Brean, Executive Director of the Pease Development Authority. “We recognize that this increased military activity may cause temporary noise disruptions for our neighbors. But we ask everyone to keep in mind, Portsmouth International Airport plays an integral role in global security.  Even though this training exercise will encompass an enormous geographic area off the eastern seaboard, our airfield is a critical strategic asset, similar to our role in real-world events.  As a joint-use commercial military airport, Portsmouth has an unwavering commitment to the Department of Defense and our global partners.”

Military aircraft may be more visible in the skies during this period, with increased takeoffs and landings expected at Portsmouth International Airport. Operations will occur primarily during daylight hours, but some evening activity may also take place.

The airport is working closely with military partners to ensure safe and efficient execution of all operations while minimizing disruptions to the surrounding community.
